Meet Dr. Lewis.
Dr. Monique Lewis is a transformative educational leader with over two decades of experience in driving academic excellence and fostering impactful change across K-12 education. As the Executive Director of Professional Learning, she leads a dedicated team in designing dynamic adult learning environments, empowering educators to thrive and innovate.
In her previous role as Principal of Central Middle School, Dr. Lewis turned around a school facing significant challenges. By honoring the school’s historic roots and introducing safety, engagement, and instructional enhancements, she transformed it into a collaborative and thriving educational community.
At Fondren IB/Magnet School, Dr. Lewis successfully led the school’s International Baccalaureate authorization, fostering a culture of independent thinking and lifelong learning. She launched initiatives like the Newcomer Academy, prioritizing support for students from diverse backgrounds and strengthening partnerships with parents and community stakeholders.
Renowned for her systems-thinking approach, Dr. Lewis excels in building high-performing teams that consistently exceed expectations. Her deep expertise in pedagogy and strategic leadership enables her to craft innovative solutions that address today’s educational challenges, with a steadfast commitment to equity-driven leadership.
Dr. Lewis holds a Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University, a Master’s degree from Columbia University, and a Doctorate in Executive Educational Leadership from Houston Christian University. Her outstanding contributions have earned her multiple Principal of the Year awards and recognition from state and local leaders.
